After an inconsistent first half, Flamengo have set clear priorities for their mid-season camp, centring on signings, conditioning and selection.
According to Globo.com, they plan to move early for reinforcements for the second half of 2026, despite the window opening only after the World Cup, while Danilo and Thiago Almada prefer to decide after the tournament.
The board accept funds are limited but want early additions to aid adaptation, aiming to be ready for the Libertadores round of 16 first leg on 12 August against Cruzeiro in Belo Horizonte.
Recruitment will prioritise players up to 26 on sensible fees, guided by technical quality, speed and fitness. Needs include a centre forward to challenge Pedro, an understudy for Arrascaeta and cover at left back.
Improving fitness is equally important. After a slow start, the team ended the half better, and staff will intensify work to give Jardim a full group when matches resume, while Saúl is still managed after heel surgery earlier this year.
With internationals away, the camp becomes an audition. Options are thin, with Léo Ortiz and Vitão at centre-back, Emerson Royal at right back and Ayrton Lucas at left, while Paquetá, De la Cruz, Arrascaeta and Carrascal miss midfield.
Rotation also needs a decision. With the Copa do Brasil gone, only the Libertadores and the Brasileirão remain, and league priority may change once knockouts start. Flamengo fly to Portugal on 28 June for friendlies on 3, 8 and 11 July, returning on 12 July.
