Flamengo have ruled out talks over goalkeeper Andrew after interest from Wolves. According to Coluna Do Fla, the Brazilian club did not even wait to hear a bid before rejecting negotiations.
The Championship side’s interest was driven by coach Cézar Peixoto, who worked with Andrew at Gil Vicente, the Portuguese club that sold him to Flamengo. Wolves were relegated from the Premier League in 2025/26 and will play in the second tier next season, a factor that may have influenced Flamengo’s swift stance.
Andrew, 25, has yet to dislodge first-choice keeper Rossi and has made only seven appearances this year, alongside friendlies in Portugal during the 2026 World Cup.
Flamengo signed him for 1.5 million euros, with Gil Vicente retaining 10 percent of a future sale. His deal runs until 2029.
The club worked hard to land him and he declared his love for Flamengo at his unveiling. With Rossi under scrutiny from part of the fanbase, some supporters want Andrew to see more minutes.
It is Flamengo’s third recent refusal involving European clubs, after 10 million euro offers from Aston Villa for Emerson Royal and from Besiktas of Türkiye for Léo Pereira were rejected.
