Flamengo visit Bragantino on Thursday at 21:30 Brasília time at Estádio Cícero de Souza Marques in round nine of the Campeonato Brasileiro, with a plan to have all seven international call-ups available.
According to Globo.com, football manager Gabriel Skinner coordinated each return with the national teams. Carrascal is already back, while the other six fly in on Thursday and head straight to Atibaia, 25 km from Bragança Paulista, where Flamengo will stay.
Plata, amid a tense club backdrop, still awaits coach Leonardo Jardim’s decision on selection. Returning from Eindhoven after Ecuador’s 1-1 draw with the Netherlands, he drew the foul that saw Dumfries sent off after 11 minutes and won the penalty converted by Enner Valencia.
Uruguay drew 0-0 with Algeria in Turin, where Varela played 90 minutes and Arrascaeta was replaced by De la Cruz in stoppage time after a quiet, booked display.
Plata and the Uruguayans played on Tuesday afternoon and will reach Atibaia before the squad, who travel on Wednesday night. Léo Pereira and Danilo featured in Brazil’s 3-1 win over Croatia in Orlando, stayed overnight and fly commercially to Campinas, landing early Thursday.
Léo Pereira was the only Brazil player to complete 90 minutes in both friendlies, and against Croatia he started the counter for the opener, misplaced only one of 76 passes and was praised by Ancelotti. Danilo came on after 15 minutes of the second half at right-back and did not block Majer’s shot for Croatia’s goal.
