Flamengo set date for new shirt debut | OneFootball

Flamengo’s new shirt will debut on Wednesday 21 in a third-round Campeonato Carioca derby against Vasco da Gama at the Maracanã, kick-off 21:30 Brasília time.

According to Coluna Do Fla, the timing sparked internal debate after the launch came on the eve of the Volta Redonda game, when a sub-20 side played at Estádio Raulino de Oliveira, a setting not deemed ideal for its first outing.

The design features bold horizontal hoops, black sleeves and a buttonless polo collar, set against Adidas’ three red shoulder stripes. The stripes are thicker on the shoulders, a nod to classic 1980s shirts.

The shirt is on sale in club stores and online in men’s and women’s versions at R$ 449,99, with the children’s at R$ 399,99. At Friday 16’s launch, Danilo, Varela, Carrascal and Pedro, who are sponsored by the German manufacturer, modelled the kit.

Globo will broadcast the match free-to-air across much of Brazil. SporTV, GETV on YouTube and Premiere will also carry the match.
