Flamengo squad report back and begin training for second half of year | OneFootball

After 19 days off, Flamengo’s squad reported back to Ninho do Urubu on Friday to begin preparations for the second half of the year, with nine World Cup call-ups absent.

According to Globo.com, players underwent medical and fitness tests, then worked on the pitch. Morning sessions are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday. Saul and Léo Ortiz had already resumed last week after cutting short their holidays.

The team will train for nine days at Ninho do Urubu before travelling to the Algarve on Sunday 28 June. Their first base in Portugal will be Lagos from 29 June to 5 July, then Estoi until 12 July.

The first friendly is against River Plate on 3 July at 19:30 local time, 15:30 in Brasília, at Estádio Algarve. Lausanne-Sport follow on 8 July at 20:30 local, 16:30 Brasília.

The final game is against Benfica on 11 July at 19:30 local, 15:30 Brasília, also at Estádio Algarve. The squad return to Rio de Janeiro on 12 July, with Chapecoense v Flamengo slated for 22 or 23 July in the Brasileirão.
