The STJD will hear Evertton Araújo on Thursday 9 over his red card against Corinthians, and he could be suspended.

According to Coluna Do Fla, he has been charged under Article 254, clause II of the CBJD, which covers reckless or imprudent play in a challenge.

The incident came seven minutes into the second half when he reached the ball first, then trod on Breno Bidon’s foot. VAR asked referee Rodrigo José Pereira de Lima to review, but he upheld the straight red.

Any sanction would range from one to six matches. The dismissal left Flamengo a man down for almost the entire second half.

With Evertton Araújo, Flamengo face Cusco in Peru at 21:30 Brasília time on Wednesday 8 in their Libertadores opener. The game will be shown on Rede Globo free-to-air, on GETV via YouTube, and on Paramount+ via streaming.
