Brazil name their final World Cup squad on Monday, and Flamengo lead the provisional list with seven players. According to Globo.com, the club expect more than half to make the 26 for the tournament in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Head coach Leonardo Jardim said all seven are ready for Brazil, citing their status as reigning champions in the Libertadores and the Brazilian league, and noted Danilo is already publicly assured by Carlo Ancelotti while two or three more could join him.
All seven started Sunday’s 1-1 draw at Athletico-PR. Danilo, 34, brings versatility and featured in three of Ancelotti’s five FIFA dates this cycle. Léo Pereira, 30, impressed on his first call under Ancelotti in March, starting against France and Croatia.
Alex Sandro, 35, was picked for four of five windows, starting against Ecuador, Paraguay and Senegal, though injuries led to two withdrawals. Léo Ortiz, 30, made Ancelotti’s first squad but did not play and later fell out of contention before recovering form at Flamengo.
Paquetá, 28, rejoined in 2026 for €42m, featured in three windows, started against Bolivia and Japan and came off the bench in four other games. Samuel Lino, 26, debuted in September against Bolivia after staying unused versus Chile and has not returned since.
Pedro, 28, has not been called in Ancelotti’s cycle after a broken arm ended a planned recall late last year, yet his 17 goals in 29 games this season have put him back in the conversation.
