Sunderland are assessing moves for Neom midfielder Amadou Kone and Lorient talent Arthur Avom this summer, while Barcelona prospect Roony Bardghji could also be in play.
Kone, 21, began at AFE, joined Stade Reims in 2023, then switched to the Saudi Pro League last year, and has impressed with energetic displays. Sunderland and Nottingham Forest are said to be monitoring him, with AS Roma also credited with interest.
Sunderland are understood to have made enquiries for Avom, with Bournemouth also asking about the 21-year-old Cameroonian. He worked under head coach Regis Le Bris at Lorient and has 14 caps. His goal is to “win the Champions League, the World Cup, and the Africa Cup of Nations”, he said, speaking to L’Equipe earlier this year.
TEAMtalk claims Barcelona are prepared to sanction Bardghji’s exit in the coming weeks, either on loan or permanently, with Sunderland among several Premier League suitors. The 20-year-old made 28 appearances in 2025/26 but logged only 872 minutes, scoring two and assisting four, and Leeds United, Aston Villa, Brighton, Brentford and Everton are also mentioned.
Any moves remain at the monitoring and enquiry stage ahead of the summer window.
