Sunderland are reportedly weighing a £67m triple move as Florent Ghisolfi shapes an ambitious summer rebuild.
TEAMtalk reports that Manchester City’s Rico Lewis is weighing up his future amid limited minutes. Valued at about £44m, the 21-year-old is understood to be keen on regular football to protect his England prospects despite signing a long-term deal last year. Sunderland are listed among suitors with Newcastle United, Everton, Fulham, Crystal Palace, Brentford and Brighton.
TEAMtalk also claims Sunderland are monitoring Blackburn Rovers defender Tom Atcheson, valued around £10m. The 19-year-old has been a regular since his December debut and is attracting interest from Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle.
Sport Witness notes that Almeria playmaker Sergio Arribas, 24, remains on Sunderland’s radar at roughly £13m. Ghisolfi is believed to be a long-term admirer, and a move could be revisited to add creativity.
Should Sunderland push for Lewis, Atcheson and Arribas, the combined outlay would sit near £67m, a potential statement of intent under Ghisolfi.
Football Insider reports Chelsea hold strong interest in goalkeeper Robin Roefs ahead of the window. The 23-year-old number one is valued at up to £60m, with Liverpool and Manchester City monitoring his situation.
Roefs is expected to return to Sunderland’s starting XI after the international break following several weeks out with injury.
