Folarin Balogun became the first Ligue 1 player to score at the 2026 World Cup, hitting a brace against Paraguay.
As reported by L'Équipe, the Monaco forward, 24, has been in prolific form for club and country.

In Los Angeles, during the United States' opener against Paraguay, he guided in Christian Pulisic's cross on a rapid counter in the 31st minute.
Just before half-time, he slipped past the defence and drove a left-footed shot into the top corner at 45+5.
Balogun has sustained his late-season club form, scoring 11 in all competitions for Monaco since February. His double left the United States on course for a positive start to the tournament.
