Foot injury could keep Grealish out for months | OneFootball

Jack Grealish has sustained a suspected stress fracture in his foot that could keep him out for a number of months. The attacker will be seen by a specialist in the coming days, after which his prognosis will become clearer.

That's what David Ornstein is reporting in The Athletic. This comes as a massive blow as Grealish had just returned from a one-match suspension with Everton thought to be considering making his loan move permanent.

But the Blues have been decimated by injuries this season, and a serious injury to the best player in the squad will be difficult to cover... although it could just be the opportunity Tyler Dibling needs to turn around his hugely disappointing first season with the club.

Everton's injury list still includes Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Jarrad Branthwaite, Tim Iroegbunam and Charly Alcaraz, who are all working their way back to full fitness, while Michael Keane will still be suspended for the next game, at home to Leeds United on Monday night.

The club just announced that Grealish has a foot injury. Will be assessed by a specialist this week.

No word on the extent or how long he might be out.

Is Grealish another victim of Finch Farm training? What do they do there?

It reminds me of "If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball", presumably this is more on the lines of "If you can jump off a 10 metre diving board (blindfold) onto irregular lumps of concrete, you can run onto the pitch".

And presumably physiotherapy consists of fast violent twisting of the knees using weights.

Everton seem to have the most training-induced injuries followed by the longest recovery periods of any club I can think of.

Charles seems to have extraordinary insider information, not only that the injury occurred in training but that it was due to Everton malpractice of some sort. Remarkable insight.

The moment we get anything good, you can bet your house it won't last. And another injury that nobody sees.

Just news emerges, 'Yeah, he's out for the season'. Just like Jarrad, Calvert-Lewin, Ndiaye and all the rest.

Very worrying, but let's wait until he sees a specialist, who can confirm the extent of the injury? If the prognosis is that he'll be out for months, we have to send him back to City, get him off our payroll, and sign a replacement before the window closes, not being cynical, but what other choice do we have. Rumours we're after Wilson, who's contract is up in the summer, play him on the right and Ndiaye on the left, but I'm hoping the Grealish injury is not as serious as first feared.

Bad news. Sounds like not going to be short term.

Mcneil gets the nod again then, hope Ndiaye is raring to go then.

If it's season long then it's got to force them in to the market, a loan maybe?

As the season goes deeper, the chances are we will get more injuries & suspensions, so the need for reinforcements is real.

Moyes said last week KDH and Tim behind Coleman and Branthwaite. Didn’t even mention Alcaraz.

Sounds like a bit to go yet.. need reinforcements.

Sign Wilson from Fulham. Him and Ndiaye both wide would be good. Both pacy and hard working. Armstrong besides them, an improving Barry up front and Garner and Guye in front of the back four.
