Ange Postecoglou is already under pressure at Nottingham Forest, despite replacing Nuno Espirito Santo less than a month ago.
Postecoglou is yet to claim his first victory after six games in charge, and supporters turned on him after the latest 3-2 Europa League defeat by FC Midtjylland on Thursday night.
Forest were clear favourites against the Danish outfit. However, they were stunned by the visitors, who scored two goals in six minutes in the first half.
When Valdemar Andreasson scored their third goal in the 88th minute, many home supporters chanted ‘you are getting sacked in the morning’ towards Postecoglou.
The Australian said the fans were entitled to their opinion but insisted his team are on the right track despite the humiliating defeat.
He said: “The fans are disappointed, they’re entitled to have an opinion on it, and I heard their opinion.
“Nothing surprises me anymore in football. I guess it’s just the climate we’re in, and it seems that’s the way we’re going.
“But look, that’s something I can control. My responsibility lies in ensuring that we strive to achieve some wins for this football club and progress it.
“I get the mood around the place isn’t going to be great, I understand people’s kind of attitude at the moment, particularly towards me, but I never worry about that. It’s not unfamiliar territory for me.
“I really believe that we’re on the right track. When we get through this period of uncertainty, we’ll be on a good path.
Postecoglou won the Europa League trophy as Tottenham Hotspur manager four months ago, beating Manchester United in the final.
But he was dismissed from his position due to the club’s dire domestic campaign, with the Lilywhites finishing 17th in the English top-flight.
Postecoglou is now struggling to get results at Forest after taking over from Nuno Espirito Santo last month.
Forest fans expressed their frustration after the latest setback against Midtjylland, although their anger stems from the club sacking Nuno after a breakdown in his relationship with owner Evangelos Marinakis.
He led them to European qualification with a seventh-place finish in the Premier League last season.
