Sporting have put in an improved offer to sign Jota Silva from Nottingham Forest on loan for the 2025/26 campaign.
According to our sister site zerozero, this was the second formal proposal made by the Lions to Forest, with the Portuguese side now awaiting a response. It includes a fee of around €3 million (approx £2.6m) for the loan until June 2026 and an option to buy for €15 million (just under £13m) at the end of it.
In the last 48 hours, communication between the two sides has significantly increased, and there is great optimism on the Sporting side regarding a positive outcome.
Jota Silva previously worked with Sporting boss Rui Borges in Guimarães and is highly sought after by the coach, who sees him as the ideal addition to complete the striker group.
After 83 games and 20 goals at Vitória SC, a performance that led him to the national team, Jota moved to Nottingham and has a contract until 2028.
In Forest's victory over Brentford (3-1) on August 17, Jota Silva played for 11 minutes but he was not on the bench for the visit to Palace.
