The move brings one of British football’s most experienced analysts back into the English game after six years overseeing Celtic’s scouting operations.
Lefevre’s career has taken him through several notable roles, but it was his spell at Arsenal that established his reputation. As Head of Video Scouting and Analysis, and later as Chief Analyst, he was involved in the development of the club’s video scouting model, supported academy and first team recruitment, and helped modernise how Arsenal assessed players.
After leaving Arsenal, Lefevre joined Celtic in December 2019 as Head of Scouting Operations. He became a constant presence through multiple managerial changes, managing recruitment processes, coordinating global scouting networks and embedding the video and data systems that shaped Celtic’s transfer strategy.
Swansea are bringing him in as part of a wider restructuring that includes the expected appointment of Hammarby manager Kim Hellberg.
The move comes after the dismissal of Alan Sheehan, whose side’s 4-1 defeat to Ipswich left the club with their worst start to a Championship season since 2018.
