HNB are reporting that Flavio Nazinho, linked in the past with Celtic and recently Stuttgart, is set to leave Cercle Brugge to join their parent club Monaco. Nazinho has quite rightly been heavily scouted after another fantastic season in Belgium, and it is not surprising that Monaco are willing to use their links to Cercle Brugge to bring him to Ligue 1.
Despite the links between the clubs, Monaco won’t be able to pick up Nazinho for free. The club from the Principality will have to part with some money, near enough to the value of the player, in order to sign him. Nazinho is currently valued at around €5m, but the two sides might agree a deal in excess of this given that Cercle Brugge owe Sporting 15% of any resale.
Nazinho joined Cercle Brugge back in September 2023, initially on loan from Sporting with a purchase option. After Nazinho played 23 games in his first season in Belgium, Cercle Brugge took up the option. Since then, Nazinho has developed into one of the best in his position in terms of defending and getting forward. Nazinho has played 71 games over the past two seasons for Cercle Brugge since making the move permanent, scoring five goals and providing 13 assists. Nazinho was also part of the Cercle Brugge team that made it to the Conference League, with the side finishing in the top eight before losing in the quarter-finals.
Monaco will be getting a talented 22-year-old full-back who has been capped at youth level by the Portuguese national team.
