The Bats announced the news via a post on their official club website this afternoon.
The 32-year-old Australian international has moved Stateside after leaving former club Chelsea earlier this summer. Kerr has signed a contract with Gotham FC until 2030.
Kerr spent six-and-a-half years with Chelsea in which she played a huge role in the club’s trophy success. The forward lifted five Barclays Women’s Super League titles, three Adobe Women’s FA Cups, three Subway Women’s League Cups and the FA Women’s Community Shield with The Blues. Kerr netted 115 goals for Chelsea and is the club’s joint all-time leading goalscorer.
Kerr has been linked with a move to Gotham FC for several weeks and the American club finally confirmed the deal this afternoon.
After signing on with Gotham FC, Kerr said “I’m incredibly excited to return to Gotham FC and to this city. This club was an important part of my journey, and to come back at this moment, with everything Gotham has built, is really special.
“The ambition here is clear, and I’m looking forward to helping this team compete for trophies and create more history.”
Kerr previously turned out for Gotham FC between 2015 and 2017 under the club’s former identity of Sky Blue FC.
