Former Eredivisie coach becomes Director of Football at KV Mechelen | OneFootball

As per Het Laatste Nieuws, Jurgen Streppel has been appointed Director of Football at KV Mechelen. Despite this appointment, technical director Tom Caluwé will remain on the board.

Best known as a coach, Streppel was previously at the helm of Willem II, Heerenveen and Roda JC. He worked recently at Helmond Sport, the sister club of KV Mechelen.

Streppel’s aim will be to create an efficient collaboration between the Jupiler Pro League club and the Keuken Kampioen Divisie club.

The former manager’s appointment has no direct consequences for Caluwé, who left the recently relegated Willem II in April to succeed Tim Matthys as technical director at KV Mechelen. The technical director remains responsible for transfers dealings.
