Following the expiry of his Arsenal contract this summer, Michal Rosiak signed for Slask Wroclaw for a training compensation fee earlier this month. The club confirmed he’s signed an initial one-year contract, with the option to extend for a further 12 months.

Rosiak immediately stepped into the first-team squad, making the bench for a league match on September 13th.

But given he didn’t come on in that game and he was without a proper pre-season, the 19-year-old then dropped down to Slask Wroclaw’s second team for a 45-minute appearance to build his fitness the following day.

Playing for the reserves was clearly just a temporary measure, and Rosiak was back in the first-team squad for Slask Wroclaw away to Pogon Siedlce at the weekend.

Once again, Rosiak started the match on the bench, but this time he made his debut in the 73rd minute. His team were 2-1 down and in need of a goal, but fellow substitute and centre-forward Przemyslaw Banaszak quickly brought them level.

Then it was Rosiak’s time to shine, as he pounced on a rebound in the centre of the penalty area and fired high into the net for 3-2. The highlights are available to watch here.

Rosiak’s goal ended up being the winner, and Slask Wroclaw now sit just two points off the top of the 1 Liga table (the second tier of Polish football). They’ll be hoping to remain in the top two and achieve automatic promotion to the Polish top flight for next season.
