The season has not yet concluded and Habib Beye remains in place, but Olympique de Marseille have already begun the search for their new manager, as per a report from L’Équipe.
Beye, who came in to replace Roberto De Zerbi back in February, has failed to deliver on the objectives set. He was asked to take the club into the UEFA Champions League and into the final of the Coupe de France. He has failed on both accounts.
Above him, there will be a change in the sporting director position, with Grégory Lorenzi primed to replace the outgoing Medhi Benatia. Lorenzi, L’Équipe understands, would like to employ a Frenchman in the managerial role. Bruno Genesio, set to leave Lille OSC this summer, is on the shortlist, as is former Paris Saint-Germain manager Christophe Galtier, currently under contract at NEOM SC in Saudi Arabia. Born in the Marseille region, Galtier has never hidden his desire to manage OM.
Adi Hutter, who left AS Monaco in the autumn, is another option for Marseille.
