Vitor Pereira and Gary O’Neil have guided their new clubs into European semi-finals this season, even as Wolves brace for Premier League relegation under Rob Edwards.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, the pair, Wolves’ two most recent head coaches, are now chasing silverware on the continent.

Pereira was dismissed by Wolves in November and replaced by Edwards, then took charge of Nottingham Forest in February to keep them up. While fighting the drop, Forest have advanced in the Europa League, beating Porto 1-0 for a 2-1 aggregate and setting up a semi-final with Villa.

He said the priority is to reconnect team and supporters, unite the club and restore belief, giving fans reasons to smile. He added they feel they are building a shared spirit to compete, enjoy, celebrate and endure together, which he sees as the essence of a club.

O’Neil left Wolves in December 2024 and held talks over a shock return after Pereira’s exit last year, but turned the job down. He instead took over at Strasbourg in January following Liam Rosenior’s move to Chelsea.

Strasbourg overturned a 2-1 first-leg loss to Mainz by winning 4-0 in the return, reaching the Europa Conference League semi-finals against Rayo Vallecano.

After the game, O’Neil was spotted by Strasbourg fans in McDonald’s, pausing for photos while ordering at the self-service machines.
