Bayern Munich’s recent wobble has reopened the Bundesliga title race, with Borussia Dortmund now six points back. According to BuLi News, four looming away days could yet trouble the leaders.
A 5-1 at RB Leipzig on 17 January kept Bayern unbeaten and well clear. A week later they lost 2-1 at home to Augsburg, then drew 2-2 at promoted Hamburg after Luka Vuskovic’s equaliser. Dortmund won on both weekends to cut the gap from 10 to six, before Bayern thrashed Hoffenheim 5-1 on 8 February after Kevin Akpoguma’s early red, Luis Diaz netting three and Harry Kane two penalties. Dortmund’s win at Wolfsburg kept it unchanged.
Borussia Dortmund away, 28 February. A Bayern win would extend the lead to nine with 10 to play, defeat would trim it to three. Niko Kovac’s side have won five straight, scoring 14.
Bayer Leverkusen away, 14 March. Champions in 2024 under Xabi Alonso and unbeaten that season, Leverkusen are unbeaten in three, with away wins at RB Leipzig and Stuttgart. Another strong display could tilt momentum.
Freiburg away, weekend beginning 3 April. Freiburg have not lost at Europa-Park since the opening day, nine home matches unbeaten with six wins, most recently 1-0 against Werder Bremen on 7 February. Points could slip there.
Mainz away, weekend beginning 24 April. Bayern have won once in their last five league visits, four defeats in that run. Last season Lee Jae-sung’s double earned a 2-1 win and Bayern’s first loss, a repeat would keep Dortmund interested.
