Real Madrid are gearing up for another big transfer window, but before they bring in new talent, they need to free up space and raise funds.
In that regard, according to SPORT, the club is planning to spend close to €200 million this summer. While they are expected to earn some income from the sell-on fees of former players, it won’t be enough to balance the books.
To make room for new arrivals and meet financial targets, Madrid will need to offload players in positions where they have too much depth.
This includes names like David Alaba, Rodrygo, Fran Garcia and Ferland Mendy, all of whom are no longer guaranteed regular playing time.
The club is not pushing anyone out the door, but it is clear that these players face stiff competition and could see their roles reduced next season.
In defence, Real Madrid now have a crowded list of centre-backs. The signing of Dean Huijsen adds to a group that already includes Eder Militao, Antonio Rudiger, Raul Asencio and David Alaba. Then there is Aurelien Tchouameni as well, who can be a centre-back.

Given this overload, the Austrian is the one most likely to be moved on. Selling him could bring in a decent transfer fee and help lighten the wage bill.
On the left side of defence, Alvaro Carreras’ arrival makes things tricky for both Mendy and Garcia. Mendy’s recent form and injury record make him a hard sell, but Garcia still has market value thanks to his age and potential.
In the attack, Rodrygo’s future is also uncertain. He struggled with being benched last season, and the arrival of Franco Mastantuono could push him even further down the pecking order.
Again, Real Madrid won’t force anyone out, but they are making it clear that playing time will be limited.
If these players want to continue playing regularly, a summer transfer might be the best solution for everyone.
