Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder has confirmed Matt Doherty is back available ahead of his side’s clash with Blackburn but will be without four other players.

Femi Seriki, Harrison Burrows, Tahith Chong and Ryan One will all miss the game as the Blades continue to contend with injury problems.

“Yeah, Doc is back,” Wilder confirmed.

“Femi out, Harrison out, Chong out and Ryan One out. They’re the only four that are missing.”

Wilder hopes some of those currently sidelined could return before the international break in just over two weeks, but insists Sheffield United will not take any unnecessary risks with their recoveries.

“What are we looking at, two weeks [before the international break]?” he said.

“We’ll try our best but we’re not taking any risks or gambles.”

The Blades boss also revealed several members of his starting side are continuing to play despite carrying fitness issues because of the club’s current lack of options.

“We’ve got a couple of issues with a couple of players who really need to come out of the team but are playing on with issues that we need at the moment.”

Meanwhile, the Sheffield United boss says he remains hopeful of signing a free agent forward but admits a player will have to depart in order for that to happen.
