France lose to Ivory Coast | OneFootball

With a week to go until the start of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, France with FC Bayern duo Dayot Upamecano and Michael Olise in the starting line-up suffered a friendly defeat against Ivory Coast on Thursday night. Rayan Cherki put Les Bleus in front on the stroke of half-time in Nantes. After several substitutions at the break for the French – including Upamecano and Olise both coming off – Ivory Coast turned the game around, with Guela Doué (53’) and Amad Diallo (84’) scoring the goals for Germany’s World Cup group opponents.

France will play one more friendly against Northern Ireland in Lille on Monday. Upamecano, Olise and Co then meet Senegal in their opening World Cup match on 16 June in East Rutherford (21:00 CEST).
