France secured their second win of the tournament, as they advance into the Round of 32 thanks to a 3-0 result against Iraq, in which Marcus Thuram made his World Cup debut. The Nerazzurri forward came on the 90+1' replacing Kylian Mbappé who scored the decisive brace.
No problems for Deschamps' side, who took the lead at the Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia after just 14 minutes thanks to a superb left-footed strike from outside the box. They doubled their lead in the second half, capitalising on an error made by goalkeeper Basil who gifted the ball to Dembelé. The PSG forward provided the assist for Mbappé to tap it into an open goal. Dembélé himself wrapped up the scoring in the 68th minute, scoring his first goal of this World Cup.
France are back in action against Norwary on Friday 26 June at 21:00 CEST in the match that will decide top spot of Group I.
