Coquelin left a strong impression at Valencia during the Centenary season, helping deliver the Copa del Rey. He is remembered for a sliding defensive block on Lionel Messi.

After a difficult Ligue 1 campaign with Nantes, he has chosen his hometown club, where he trained before a Premier League move under Arsene Wenger.

He will now feature in Ligue 2 in the latter stages of his career, aiming to give back to his formative team. Coquelin has prioritised this destination over more lucrative offers.
