Francisco Trincão joins Al-Ahli from Sporting CP in €40 million deal | OneFootball

Francisco Trincão, the 26-year-old Portugal winger with 19 caps, joined Al-Ahli from Sporting CP on Saturday on a four-year deal for around €40 million.

According to L'Équipe, he is the latest Portugal international to move to Saudi Arabia, after Rúben Neves and João Cancelo at Al-Hilal and João Félix and Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-Nassr. He becomes the fifth player from Roberto Martinez’s last World Cup squad to sign in the Saudi Pro League.

Al-Ahli finished third last season and have qualified for the Asian Champions League.

Trincão featured only briefly at the World Cup, playing 26 minutes in a 5-0 win over Uzbekistan.

He rebuilt his form in Lisbon after a less productive 2020-21 with Barcelona, where he made 42 appearances and scored 3 goals.
