John Terry has congratulated Frank Lampard on Coventry City's title success
Coventry City clinched the Championship title with an emphatic 5-1 win against Portsmouth on 21 April.
The Sky Blues got to enjoy the trophy lift celebrations with a 3-1 victory over Wrexham on 26 April, with the club ending a 25-year absence from the Premier League.
Frank Lampard’s side had competition from the likes of Ipswich Town, Millwall and Middlesbrough for top spot, but a strong run of form to end the campaign sealed their place as champions.
Coventry will now be preparing for life in the Premier League, where they will be hoping to survive beyond just one season.
They will take solace from Sunderland and Leeds United’s success in reaching the 40-point mark this year, which is typically the total required to seal safety.
This will also be Lampard’s return to the top flight after a disastrous stint with Chelsea in 2023 in his most recent role prior to taking charge at the CBS Arena.

Former Chelsea teammate to Lampard, John Terry, issued a message of congratulations to the 47-year-old on social media in the aftermath of the trophy celebrations last weekend.
The ex-England international has praised him for earning promotion to the Premier League and winning the Championship title, and is excited for what he’s achieved.
“Congratulations @franklampard @coventrycityofficial,” wrote Terry, via Instagram.
“Unbelieveable achievement, Lamps.
“Absolutely buzzing for you mate.”
Lampard issued a quick response of gratitude: “Thank you mate” as he prepares the team for the final weekend of the campaign.
Terry has come under fire for his recent social media use, in which he offered his support for former Southampton chairman, and current Reform Britain leader, Rupert Lowe.
Lowe has called for a ban on foreign nationals from claiming benefits in the UK, to which the former centre-back responded “100%, yes.”
Terry has also been recently linked with a potential involvement in a takeover of Colchester United, who are currently competing in League Two.
The club confirmed that they are in discussions over a possible sale, with Terry reportedly a part of the consortium seeking a deal.
However, it remains to be seen whether anything will come from these talks, with the season now coming to a close.
Meanwhile, Lampard is preparing Coventry for life in the top flight but first they must travel to Watford on Saturday for their final league game of the season.

Coventry’s title win is the crowning achievement of Lampard’s managerial career so far, and he will now be looking to keep that momentum going by keeping the club in the Premier League next season.
The 47-year-old’s reputation was at an all-time low prior to taking over at the CBS Arena, but he has turned things around and is back in the big time.
He has done what Terry hasn’t, and has worked through these difficult periods to improve himself as a coach at the highest level.
The former Chelsea captain currently works at underage level with his old club, but he was recently rejected as a potential replacement for Liam Rosenior at Stamford Bridge as he continues to push for the top job instead of going down the lower levels like Lampard.
