Frank reveals major Spurs injury blow ahead of Villa clash | OneFootball

Thomas Frank has confirmed that Mohammed Kudus is facing three months out with the quad injury sustained during Tottenham’s draw with Sunderland last weekend.

Kudus limped off during the 1-1 draw in North London with tests having now revealed the extent of the issue.

Frank does not expect the Ghana international to return until April, leaving Spurs light of options in the final third. Spurs sold Brennan Johnson to Crystal Palace earlier this month to further reduce their attacking options.

“Mohammed Kudus unfortunately is a bigger one to the tendon in the quad. That is one where we expect him back after the March international break,” Frank said at his pre-match press conference.

The Dane also gave an update on Dejan Kulusevski, who is yet to appear this season. Frank admitted the midfielder’s issue is ‘complicated’.

“The latest on Dejan Kulusesvki. We know it is a complicated injury. If there is one person who can accelerate that [recovery] it is Dejan, who is a top pro and has a top mentality. The most important thing is to remove the pain in the knee.

“He had an injection to help that 10 days ago. We will know in 3-4 weeks if that has settled. And when it has settled, hopefully, he will be on the grass and from there, we will see what is happening.”

There was better news ahead of this week’s FA Cup third-round tie, with Dominic Solanke and Destiny Udogie back in training.

“Both of them trained. Both of them are getting closer. Dest is a bit closer than Dom because he’s only been out for around five weeks so that’s a lot less than six months. Both are positive and improving.”
