According to the publication, Frattesi had made up his mind about returning to Roma in January. His agent Giuseppe Riso almost promised it would happen. On the other hand, the Nerazzurri were never willing to facilitate his exit. They set a lofty price tag as they would have had to find a proper replacement. Instead, they never considered sending him to Napoli, which were interested too but were their main rivals.

In the end, the deal didn’t come close to being completed. The outcome should differ in the summer. The goal versus Udinese could be one of his final ones in San Siro.
