FC Bayern won their 13th successive league game in the Frauen-Bundesliga, while VfL Wolfsburg’s coach Stephan Lerch expressed his disappointment after their game in Bremen was postponed to a later date.

Harder brace helps Bayern to victory in Freiburg

Bayern were in total control from the first whistle at Dreisamstadion. In a rare game where Klara Bühl had no direct goal involvement, Pernille Harder scored twice to reach nine goals for the season.

Germany captain Giulia Gwinn and Linda Dallmann each had a direct hand in two goals as well. Edna Imade, who has scored five goals in her final two games for Real Sociedad, was on target four minutes into her debut with a brilliant first-time finish.

Just like Manuel Neuer against TSG Hoffenheim, Ena Mahmutovic’s error led to Freiburg’s equalizer before the champions ran riot after the break. The league leaders will next face the only team they failed to beat so far this season with their trip to Jena.

Lerch discusses challenges of short-term postponement

For the second time in 2026, Wolfsburg’s Frauen-Bundesliga fixture was postponed to a later date due to adverse weather conditions in Bremen. She-Wolves head coach Stephan Lerch believed these incidents affected their rhythm ahead of the Champions League game against Juventus on Thursday.

The first leg of the playoff tie will be only their second game of the year. Lineth Beerensteyn’s brace secured a 2-1 win over Köln for Wolfsburg in the previous week. Bayern have a nine-point lead at the top of the standings, with both teams having games on hand compared to more than half of the teams in the league.

Only one home win on matchday 17

Eintracht Frankfurt are the only team to win their home fixture on matchday 17. In her first start since the memorable 6-4 win in Hoffenheim, Rebecka Blomqvist scored the only goal of the game against Bayer Leverkusen.

In Nürnberg, Hoffenheim secured a comfortable 3-0 win that saw them climb into the top three. The visitors were awarded three penalty kicks as Marie Steiner and Selina Cerci converted their chances after Valesca Ampoorter’s miss in the fifth minute.

Cerci became the third player to reach double figures after Leverkusen’s Vanessa Fudalla and the legendary Alexandra Popp. Nürnberg played with ten women since Lara Meroni’s straight red card in the 12th minute.

Elsewhere, bottom-placed Carl Zeiss Jena stunned Union Berlin with Olivia Alcaide’s 94th-minute winner on her debut. All three newly-promoted sides lost on home soil as RB Leipzig recorded a comeback win over Hamburg. On Monday, Köln were held at home by SGS Essen in a goalless draw.
