Frederik Rønnow returns to Denmark squad for World Cup play-offs after injuries | OneFootball

Frederik Rønnow has agreed to return to Denmark for this month’s World Cup play-offs after injuries to Denmark’s No. 1, Celtic's Kasper Schmeichel, and Chelsea goalkeeper Filip Jørgensen.

According to BuLi News, Denmark coach Brian Riemer spoke with the 33-year-old following Jørgensen’s setback and secured his short-term comeback, adding that he was grateful to have a top-level option available.

West Ham’s Mads Hermansen will start in Schmeichel’s absence, with Rønnow acting as his deputy.

The long-serving 1. FC Union Berlin goalkeeper has 10 senior caps.

Denmark face North Macedonia on 26 March, then, if they progress, could meet the winners of Czech Republic vs Ireland in the play-off final.
