Youngster has only started one match this season
Kobbie Mainoo’s older brother has issued a protest against the Manchester United star’s dwindling playing time.
Mainoo has been pushed to the fringes at United this season, making just 12 appearances so far this campaign in all competitions, with only one start.
He was limited to a half-hour cameo on Monday night as United played out a thrilling 4-4 draw with Bournemouth, coming on in place of goalscorer Casemiro with the Red Devils trailing 3-2.
Ruben Amorim’s regular refusal to hand Mainoo starts has drawn the ire of large swathes of the club’s fans, and Mainoo’s own brother has now echoed their calls.
Mainoo’s brother, Jordan Mainoo-Hames, 30, is a noted model, influencer and former Love Island contestant.
He was in attendance at Old Trafford for the Bournemouth match, donning a black t-shirt which bore the slogan ‘Free Kobbie Mainoo’ in block white lettering.

Mainoo-Hames shared an image of the outfit to his Instagram story shortly after the Bournemouth draw, in which Kobbie played only a fleeting role.
Mainoo’s only start this season came in United’s now infamous Carabao Cup defeat by Grimsby Town, and he has unsurprisingly been linked with a move away from his boyhood club in the January transfer window. Reports coming out of the club, however, maintain he is not for sale.
It is hoped that Amad Diallo, Bryan Mbeumo, and Noussair Mazraoui’s absence at AFCON, which could run through late January, can open the door for Mainoo to regain his place in the starting lineup.
Speaking ahead of the Bournemouth match, Amorim snapped at reporters questioning Mainoo’s situation, but left the door open for him to reclaim his place.
"If Kobbie comes to me and talks to me, I will talk to him,” said the Portuguese.
"The door is open for any player to change my mind. But in the end, it's going to be the training, the games. Of course, he's not playing so many games, but Kobbs, he had opportunities, especially last year.
"I just look at the team and try to win the next game. I will do that until the end.
"Kobbs is one more player that I understand all the interest. I understand how important it is. The hopes that you guys and English guys have. I also just want to win. If he's the right guy, I will put him in. No problem."
