French customs said in a statement on Friday that they intercepted nearly 2,300 counterfeit national team shirts ahead of the World Cup.
With the tournament scheduled for 11 June to 19 July, officers in Marne-la-Vallée inspected a surge of 1,100 parcels over five days, yielding the haul.
The shipments were linked to Chinese online marketplaces. Many items were replicas of France shirts.
The fakes breach the intellectual property rights of FIFA, kit manufacturers and national teams.
Such seizures are common before major sporting events. During Paris 2024, customs carried out 27,500 checks.
