From idols to disappointments, the recent wearers of Corinthians’ 77 | OneFootball

Corinthians are close to announcing Jesse Lingard, 33, who left FC Seoul in December. He is expected to take 77, iconic for the 1977 Paulista that ended an almost 23-year wait, and vacant since July 2025.

According to Meu Timao, the number has lately been chosen for marketing, personal reasons and its resonance at the club. These are the most recent wearers.

Igor Coronado wore 77 from March 2024 to June 2025. Signed after leaving Al-Ittihad, he struggled with injuries and limited minutes, making 67 games with seven goals and five assists. His deal ended in July 2025, with about R$ 10 million due in instalments.

Chrystian Barletta wore 77 from April to July 2023. Corinthians paid about R$ six million for 50% of his rights, but he made only five appearances before a R$ 6.6 million move to Ceará, with proceeds used to clear a São Bernardo debt. He now plays for Sport.

Jô chose 77 on returning for a third spell in June 2020, keeping it until June 2022. After being filmed at a pagode during defeat to Cuiabá in early June 2022, then missing training, he agreed an amicable termination despite a deal to 31 December 2023. He retired in August 2025 to focus on music.

Jadson returned in February 2017 and took 77, presented by Basílio. He later switched to 10 for continental competition and kept it. He left early in 2020 under Tiago Nunes’ overhaul, retired in 2022 and now works as a pundit.
