Fulham begin their Carabao Cup campaign on Wednesday night, hosting Championship side Bristol City at Craven Cottage.
The match provides a perfect opportunity for Marco Silva to rotate his squad and give valuable minutes to his fringe players, while also aiming to build on an unbeaten start to the season.
Marco Silva is expected to make a number of changes to his starting eleven for tonight’s cup tie, though he has admitted his options for a full-scale rotation are somewhat limited. The most notable change will come in goal, where Benjamin Lecomte, the club’s sole summer signing, is set to be handed his full debut in place of Bernd Leno.
In defence, Kenny Tete and Ryan Sessegnon are likely to come in as the full-back pairing. At centre-back, Joachim Andersen and Calvin Bassey could continue their partnership to build cohesion.
The most significant rotation will be in attack. Emile Smith Rowe is pushing hard for his first start of the season after his impressive goalscoring cameo against Manchester United last weekend. Raúl Jiménez is also expected to be recalled to lead the line, while wingers Harry Wilson and Adama Traoré are in contention.
Fulham predicted XI: Lecomte; Tete, Andersen, Bassey, Sessegnon; Lukic, Berge; Wilson, Smith Rowe, Iwobi; Jimenez.
The Carabao Cup fixture takes place at Craven Cottage on Wednesday, 27th August 2025, with kick-off scheduled for 7:45pm BST.
This Carabao Cup fixture will not be broadcast live on TV in the UK. Highlights will be available after the final whistle on Sky Sports and other digital platforms.
