FC Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund have reached a total agreement for the transfer of German forward Karim Adeyemi, bringing an end to what has been a swiftly-completed operation.
Fabrizio Romano broke the news of the agreement, confirming that the two clubs had shook hands on a deal worth €22 million plus €7 million in add-ons, with the player signing a five-year contract.
Now, according to exclusive details revealed by Sky Germany’s Patrick Berger, there appears to be a small discrepancy in the value of the performance-related bonuses agreed between Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund.
The journalist reports that the financial architecture of the agreement is structured at a guaranteed €22 million fixed fee, accompanied by €9 million in performance-related add-ons, a little higher than the €7 million initially reported by Romano.

These newly integrated variable clauses are considered highly achievable by both parties, linked with title wins and appearance thresholds.
Crucially, to lower the immediate fixed cost for the Catalan giants, Borussia Dortmund also managed to successfully secure a 35% sell-on clause on any future transfer fee for the 24-year-old forward.
From a personal perspective, Adeyemi had already greenlit the move to fulfil his long-standing ambition of wearing the Blaugrana shirt.
The 24-year-old speedster has committed to a five-year contract that ties his future to the Spotify Camp Nou until June 2031.
The German international will be taking home a fixed salary of €6 million net per season.

The signing represents an immense tactical triumph for Barcelona manager Hansi Flick, who previously handed Adeyemi his senior international debut with Germany.
Flick views the versatile attacker as an ideal strategic component to inject more speed in attack and intense off-the-ball pressing into the frontline.
With his signing, as well as the addition of Anthony Gordon, Barcelona have added quality and depth to their attacking unit in the wide areas.
Adeyemi is expected to fly out to Barcelona imminently to finalise his mandatory medical examinations before completing the transfer.
The focus will now shift to the signing of a new centre-forward, with Julian Alvarez being the priority target.
