Arsenal have funds in place to make a marquee signing and beat their club-record transfer, according to The Guardian.

The Gunners are planning to make manager Mikel Arteta one of the best-paid managers in the world after he led the Emirates Stadium club to their first Premier League title in 22 years.

Arsenal are working towards establishing themselves as perennial title winners, and while there is unlikely to be the same outlay on players as the £250 million spent last summer, they are ready to rival the purchase of Declan Rice for a then-British record £105m in 2023.

Arteta will be backed to splash the cash as the Gunners look to defend their title next term and challenge for the Champions League and other trophies.

The Arsenal boss has made a forward his priority heading into the summer transfer window, and Bournemouth attacker Eli Junior Kroupi is a target.

However, the Cherries could value the 19-year-old at about £80m after he broke the Premier League record for most goals scored by a teenager in his debut season.

He notched his 13th league goal in Bournemouth’s 1-1 draw against Manchester City last night to hand Arsenal the title.

Kroupi is regarded as an option for Arsenal’s left wing and is seen as a player capable of competing with Kai Havertz and Viktor Gyokeres for the starting role as a number 9.

He is not the only forward on the Gunners’ radar, with Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez, Paris Saint-Germain’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, his teammate Bradley Barcola, Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams and Newcastle United’s Anthony Gordon also being monitored.

However, whether Arsenal are ready to spend more than £105m on one forward remains to be seen despite the availability of funds.
