Gabby Agbonlahor has told Aston Villa attacker Jadon Sancho that he has to be willing to run around always at the Villa Park club if he wants to play regularly.

The Englishman joined the Villans on loan from Manchester United on transfer deadline day, and he is looking to get his career back on track after his Premier League struggles.

Consistency has been an issue for Sancho since he left Borussia Dortmund, and Agbonlahor has warned that he could find himself on the bench if he refuses to put in the work on the pitch at all times.

Sancho is looking forward to working under Villa manager Unai Emery, and fans are hoping the Spaniard can get the best out of a player who once had the world at his feet as a youth player.

His return in front of goal during his first stint in the Bundesliga remains mind-blowing, but the jury is still out as to whether he can return to that form.

Sancho notched 50 goals and 64 assists in 137 games for Dortmund during his first spell, and Villa could do with that version of him over the next nine months.

He is 25 years of age and still has plenty of room for improvement, but he has to be willing to listen to Emery if he wants to turn into the world-class attacker many tipped him to become.

The Villa boss has a track record of developing players, with Morgan Rogers one of his latest success stories.

The 23-year-old bagged 14 goals and 15 assists in 54 games across all competitions last term to emerge as the PFA Young Player of the Year for 2024-25.

Rogers is slowly establishing himself as a key player for England, and Sancho will be hoping to return to the Three Lions set-up ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
