Gabigol likely to miss Remo clash with muscle oedema | OneFootball

According to Diario Do Peixe, Santos striker Gabigol has muscle oedema in his right hamstring and calf, specifically the soleus. He reported pain, underwent tests, and has begun physiotherapy, with treatment expected to take about seven days.

As a result, he is likely to miss Santos against Remo at Vila Belmiro on Thursday the second at 7pm in the ninth round of the Brasileiro. He remains a doubt for the Flamengo trip to the Maracanã on Sunday the fifth at 5.30pm in the 10th round.

Gabigol returned to Santos this season on loan from Cruzeiro, with a deal until the end of the year. He has two assists and seven goals in 12 games.

In the Paulistão, he featured in eight of nine matches, sitting out against Guarani due to tendinitis. In the Brasileiro, he has appeared in only four of eight rounds.

He was rested against Chapecoense, avoided the synthetic surface at Athletico-PR, and was ineligible by contract against Raposa. He also stayed on the bench in the home win over Vasco. Recently, for a pubic issue, he underwent a PRP procedure and had been training normally before the latest pain.
