Gabigol has undergone platelet-rich plasma treatment on his pubic area and remains available to Santos.

According to Diario Do Peixe, the non-surgical intervention is not viewed as a concern by the club. The forward had felt discomfort since his spell in Minas Gerais and chose the procedure to speed up recovery and reduce future risks.

PRP uses the athlete’s own blood, which is centrifuged to concentrate platelets rich in growth factors. The concentrate is then applied to the affected area to aid healing, collagen production and cellular regeneration.

He has no diagnosed injury and is expected to train as normal this week. The squad returns on Wednesday at CT Rei Pelé under Cuca.

He missed the 0-0 draw with Cruzeiro in the eighth round of the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A due to a contract clause, as he is on loan from the Minas club.

He is expected to be available for the next fixture against Remo. Santos’s top scorer this season, he has seven goals and two assists and will be an important figure during the FIFA international break.
