Gabriel Jesus hails Bukayo Saka as elite: “He sits at the same table as Vinicius and Raphinha” | OneFootball

Gabriel Jesus has said Arsenal teammate Bukayo Saka 'sits at the same table' as the best wingers in world football.

Saka has faced scrutiny this season despite Arsenal's position at the top of thePremier League table. The 24-year-old has nine goals and assists in the Premier League, a decline in output from last season, despite playing considerably more minutes.

Despite that, Jesus has said Saka remains one of the elite wide players in the game. Speaking toThe Rio Ferdinand Presents podcast, Jesus was asked how Saka compares to Brazil teammates Vinicius Junior and Raphinha, regarded among the best wingers in the world.

"At the same table. At the same table," Jesus said.

"They are all at the same level. Obviously we are talking about moments and impact, different styles. But they all have quality and impact in the big moments.

"Bukayo is there as well. Obviously, you still need to win trophies but this he'll do. Of modern teammates, I'm a big fan of Bukayo's personality because this guy is so humble. He's strong but so humble.

"I know his father, his mum, and I say 'wow, well done', because this guy is so humble. Today, in football, it's not easy. You see someone come from the academy and be so big in the club and team, and he's stayed the same.

"He's an amazing guy. I see him talk to the academy kids, because we use the same gym sometimes. They look up to him and say 'I want to be Saka'".
