Gabriel Magalhaes out of Brazil friendlies against France and Croatia with right knee injury | OneFootball

Gabriel Magalhaes has withdrawn from Brazil’s friendlies against France on 26 March and Croatia on one April because of a right knee injury.

The Brazilian federation said in a statement that imaging showed he is not fit to play in this international window and that no replacement will be called up.

The Arsenal centre-back, 28, capped 17 times, sustained the problem during the League Cup final, a 0-2 defeat to Manchester City.

His absence adds to Brazil’s setbacks, with Alex Sandro and Alisson also ruled out.

The length of his lay-off is unclear. He is due back with Arsenal on four April for an FA Cup quarter-final at Southampton, then to travel to Portugal to face Sporting in the Champions League on seven April.
