Gabriel Paulista is expected to be available for Corinthians’ Libertadores decider with Rosario Central, despite limping out of the 2-1 defeat by Cruzeiro with thigh pain.
According to Meu Timao, the 35-year-old should be at Fernando Diniz’s disposal for the second leg at Neo Química Arena on Thursday 20 August at 21:30.
The problem came seven minutes into the second half. Paulista landed awkwardly from an aerial duel, received treatment, then was replaced by João Pedro Tchoca and was seen in tears on the bench. No injury was detected afterwards.
His presence would be a major boost for Diniz. Allan is suspended after his red card in the first leg, André Ramalho is a doubt with labyrinthitis and missed the Cruzeiro match, and Breno Bidon, withdrawn at half-time with thigh pain, will be monitored.
Zakaria Labyad has ruptured the ACL and meniscus in his left knee and is out for the season. André Luiz has a grade 2 injury to his right hamstring, and striker Yuri Alberto has the same. Kayke is rehabbing left-knee ACL surgery, while Vitinho is recovering left-knee meniscus surgery.
There is also the possibility of Memphis Depay returning, with the board reversing their decision not to renew his deal, and the expectation that his contract will be extended until mid-2028. After a 0-0 first leg, Corinthians need a simple home win to reach the quarter-finals, with Universidad Católica or Estudiantes awaiting the winners.
