Gabriel Silva bends in free-kick as Santa Clara rise to 13th | OneFootball

Santa Clara beat AVS 1-0 at Estádio Clube Desportivo das Aves to climb from 16th to 13th in Liga Portugal.

In the 65th minute Paulo Vitor received a second yellow and was sent off. Silva then bent a free-kick into the bottom left (68.) to settle the game.

Gabriel Batista saved well from Tomane's early header, then parried a low effort by Roni before the break. At the other end, Adriel denied Serginho from close range in the first half.

With the man advantage, Santa Clara controlled the game. Silva headed against the left post (78.), and Adriel tipped away a drive from Vinicius (81.).

A late chance fell to Aderllan Santos, whose header cleared the bar in the fifth minute of second half stoppage time.

Santa Clara registered 12 attempts and 54.7% possession. AVS produced 10 attempts with two on target.

AVS remain bottom on 10 points and visit Tondela next. Santa Clara host Gil Vicente next.
