Gaël Kakuta departs Sakaryaspor after mutual contract termination | OneFootball

Gaël Kakuta has left Sakaryaspor after the 34-year-old’s contract was terminated by mutual consent.

The 18th-placed club in Türkiye’s second division said in a statement that both parties agreed to part, thanked the DR Congo international with 30 caps, and wished him success for the remainder of his career.

Kakuta arrived in Türkiye in February 2025, joining Sakaryaspor after a spell with Esteghlal in Iran.

A product of RC Lens, then Chelsea, the attacking midfielder provided experience throughout the campaign.

He played 28 league matches, scored nine goals and supplied five assists, and also earned a call-up with DR Congo for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
