Gaetano ‘to undergo’ Atalanta medical in €14m move from Cagliari | OneFootball

Gianluca Gaetano will undergo medical tests in Bergamo on Thursday ahead of a €14m move from Cagliari to Atalanta, requested by new Dea coach Maurizio Sarri, before signing his contract.

Sportitalia and Fabrizio Romano report that the agreement is complete, while Sky Sport Italia puts the fee at €12m plus a further €2m in add-ons.

Talks began several months ago after Sarri specifically targeted the 26-year-old creative midfielder.

A Napoli academy graduate, he had loan spells at Cremonese and Cagliari before joining the Sardinian club permanently for €6.2m in June 2025.

Last season he made 35 appearances across Serie A and the Coppa Italia for Cagliari, scoring two goals and providing four assists.
