Galatasaray’s move for Bernardo Silva has gathered pace after Barcelona stepped away from the race. According to Turkish-Football.com, the Trendyol Süper Lig holders are now regarded as frontrunners to land the Manchester City playmaker.
Silva had prioritised a switch to the Spotify Camp Nou and waited for formal contact. Barcelona did not allocate the budget or table an offer, and ongoing financial constraints have prompted their withdrawal, so the Portuguese has turned to alternative proposals.
A high-level meeting is scheduled in Türkiye this weekend to advance talks. The player’s camp is expected to arrive in Istanbul to continue negotiations.
Talks will cover contract length, personal terms and performance-related bonuses. The 31-year-old has indicated he wants his domestic future settled after attending to immediate international commitments.
Galatasaray’s aggressive approach has outpaced other admirers tracking the six-time Premier League winner during the final year of his Etihad tenure. With a financially stronger package than Juventus on the table, the deal is reportedly close to completion. If concluded, it would mark another statement signing aimed at deeper runs in elite European competition.
