Galatasaray have registered a strong interest in Milan midfielder Youssouf Fofana as they look to make a high-profile addition to their squad.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Turkish giants have scouted the French international extensively over recent months and are prepared to test the Rossoneri’s resolve during the current window.

Notably, despite the concrete interest from Istanbul, the operation faces a significant hurdle regarding the player’s will. Fofana is currently not keen on a move to the Süper Lig and has expressed a clear desire to remain at Milan to continue his development under Max Allegri. Furthermore, the midfielder is considered a central pillar of the current project at San Siro, making any potential negotiation difficult for the Turkish side to unlock.

Indeed, while Fofana remains a top target for the Galatasaray hierarchy, the club is already evaluating elite alternatives in Serie A. The report indicates that the Turkish side could pivot their attention toward Davide Frattesi or Juventus star Teun Koopmeiners if they cannot convince the Milan man to change his mind. Both players have been identified as profiles that could significantly raise the technical level of the Gala midfield.
