Turkish giants Galatasaray are on the verge of securing a permanent transfer for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen after agreeing to meet Napoli’s €75 million release clause, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
Osimhen has reportedly snubbed interest from Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal, who offered a lucrative contract reportedly worth €160 million over four years.
The 26-year-old forward, who recently enjoyed a prolific loan spell at Galatasaray last season, has reportedly agreed personal terms on a four-year contract worth €16 million net per season.
Osimhen was instrumental in Galatasaray’s success during the 2024/25 campaign, scoring 37 goals and providing seven assists in 41 appearances across all competitions.
His goals helped the club secure both the Super Lig and the Turkish Cup, endearing him to the fans and club management and making his permanent signing a priority.
Napoli’s decision to sell Osimhen is driven by both sporting and financial factors, as head coach Antonio Conte does not see Osimhen as part of his plans, preferring Romelu Lukaku as the main striker.
Galatasaray’s willingness to meet the €75 million release clause and Osimhen’s desire to stay in Istanbul suggest the transfer will be completed soon, provided the clubs agree on payment terms.
This move would be a major coup for Galatasaray, securing one of Europe’s most prolific strikers and boosting their ambitions for the upcoming domestic and Champions League campaigns.
For Napoli, parting ways with Osimhen would provide them with enough financial muscle for their pursuit of a new striker.
The reigning Serie A champions are eyeing a move for Liverpool’s Darwin Nunez, while Udinese’s Lorenzo Lucca remains a target.
